Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?

- Jonah 3:9

Openly denouncing

those servants of corruption who

are adding works

to salvation.

For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

- Acts 20:29-30

The independent fundamental Baptist movement, and Christianity generally has been totally infiltrated by those promoting the false doctrine that in order to be saved one must "repent of their sins." (This phrase is never found in the Bible.)

This supposedly involves a change in lifestyle or a "willingness" to turn away from sin in order to be saved.

To say that people are saved by believing and turning from their wicked way, is to say that they are saved by faith plus works according to Jonah 3:10.

If you have a King James Bible, you will note that God repents more than anyone else in the Bible - Does God sin?

Because repent means to turn, or change your mind (Strong's >>)

Repent ye, and believe the Glad Tidings, Christ came into the world to save sinners.

“And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.”

- Jonah 3:10
